Adult's UV Swimwear
Mr Sam Orkar – Consultant Plastic Surgeon at McIndoe Surgical Centre – www.mcindoesurgical.co.uk says "Skin cancers are unfortunately on the increase. Undoubtedly, our love for the sun is a significant contributory factor to this increase. It is imperative therefore that we look after our future health and that of our children by increased sun awareness. Taking simple steps to reduce our love for the tan, including avoidance of the sun and use of creams(SpF 15+) and sun protection clothes as offered by on line retailer The Beach Factory".
Sun protection swimwear is tested to a standard of up to UPF50+ ultra violet protection (the maximum rating for fabrics) and blocks 97.5% of the sun's ultraviolet radiation.
Choose from a tighter fitting UV rash shirt or a looser UV swim shirt or UV tee shirt. All are suitable for use in water or can be worn dry.
The UV rash shirts from Gul, Rip Curl and O Neill are designed to be wrinkle free when worn under a wetsuit. They are therefore very tight fitting and for general use we strongly suggest going up at least one size. UV swim shirts are designed more like a T-shirt and are looser fitting.
